3. COMPARISON WITH PREVIOUS RELEASE
This release provides an application programming interface for IMPART ISO 8073 Transport on Windows 2000 and later systems which is based on the X/Open XTI specification. This comprises the following files :
readme.htm - The release note in HTML format.
winxti.lib - The WinXTI library file: you will need to link this with your C or C++ programs.
bjlog.lib - The Impart Tracing library file: you will need to link this with your programs if you wish to use the IMPART Tracing facilities.
winxti.h - The WinXTI header file: you will need to include this in your C source.
tdiaddr.h - The WinXTI header file: you will need to include this in your C source.
bjlog.h - The Impart Tracing header file: you will need to include this in your C source if you wish to use the IMPART Tracing facilities described in winxti.doc (see below).
winxti.doc - The WinXTI Reference Manual, in Word 6 format, which describes the API.
Intel 486 or Pentium-based Industry Standard PC running Microsoft Windows 95/98, or Windows NT, or Windows 2000 or later.
To run applications developed using the WinXTI API you must have installed IMPART ISO 8073 Transport for Windows 2000 Release 1.1.0 or later.
This is the first release.
The product is provided on the IMPART for Windows CD-ROM. It requires 200Kb of disk space.
Run "setup.exe" from the installation disk and follow the on-screen prompts. All of the product files will be installed into the same directory, with shortcuts from the program group 'IMPART WinXTI' to the Reference Manual and the Release Note. You will need to copy the header and library files into the appropriate locations for your compiler.
The software is provided on the IMPART for Windows CD-ROM in the WinXTI directory.
